Welcome
Over the next several weeks, I plan to allocate a large portion of time to speaking with the constituents of U.S. Congressional District 6, while listening to your ideas and concerns. As we embark upon an exciting and challenging 2012 election cycle, I look forward to working on behalf of each of you to ensure that America is a better place to live, work and raise a family.
As Texas grapples with devastating drought, the initial financial and environmental damages are just now being realized. In 2011, Texas farmers suffered almost $7.3 billion in losses. The Texas Forest Service says almost 500 million trees died in their state because of the drought. Meanwhile, the drought has caused our nation’s cattle inventory to drop to its lowest point since 1952. After reviewing the collected data, many scientists & meteorologists have concerns about long-term drought in the Great Plains and other parts of our nation. Continued crop, livestock, and water shortages will have a profound impact on our nation. Clearly, it is time to evaluate methods for off-setting this drought. It is time to do something about it!
Why am I running for Congress? The biggest need in this country is jobs. Texas needs water. I have a plan that will put thousands of people back to work in the next two years. My water project will bring water to the central part of the United States including Texas and help divert flood waters in the Midwest states.
Thank you for joining in the "fight" to elect proven leadership with common-sense solutions to "Move America Forward" and for your continued support of the campaign. It is an honor to serve as your candidate for U.S. Congressional District 6.
